Peter Molyneux Is Making His Last Game: "I Just Haven’t Got the Life Energy Left To Do This Again"

Peter Molyneux, a veteran game developer with over four decades of experience, has announced that his upcoming game, Masters of Albion, will be his last. Molyneux, known for his work on the Fable series and the god game Black & White, has been secretly working on Masters of Albion for the past three years. The game, being developed by Molyneux's independent studio, 22cans, is a god game where players manage a medieval village. Molyneux has described it as a "redemption title" and has acknowledged his tendency to overhype his games, often leading to disappointment when they fall short of expectations. At 66 years old, Molyneux says he doesn't have the "life energy left" to continue making games after this one. He has expressed the possibility that Masters of Albion could be his last, citing his lifestyle choices, including smoking and drinking, and suggesting he may be "found dead one morning with his head pressed against the keyboard."
