Wyze tries its hand at a palm-reading smart lock

Wyze, a budget-friendly smart home manufacturer, has announced the Wyze Palm Lock, a new smart lock that can be unlocked using the unique pattern of veins in your palm. The lock is priced at $129.99, significantly lower than similar palm-reading smart locks on the market. The Wyze Palm Lock uses biometric palm scanning for faster and more accurate identification, allowing users to unlock the door without needing to touch the lock. The lock also features an illuminated keypad for up to 50 unique access codes, as well as a standard keyhole with a slide-down damping cover. The lock is equipped with various security features, including an integrated alarm, an auto-lock function, and the ability to disguise PIN codes. It is powered by a dual-battery system, with a removable lithium-ion battery and a backup battery, as well as a USB-C power port for emergency charging. The Wyze Palm Lock is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, and can be remotely monitored and controlled through the Wyze app. It has an IP53 rating, providing protection against dust and water spray.
