Apple’s future MacBook Pro might have a touchscreen

Apple's future MacBook Pro models could feature a touchscreen display, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The change is expected to apply to OLED MacBook Pro models that are set to enter production by late 2026, incorporating an on-cell touch technology. This aligns with previous reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who suggested that Apple may launch its first touch-panel Mac in 2025 as part of a larger update to the MacBook Pro. Gurman also expects future iPads and Macs to have touch screens and similar user interfaces. The potential addition of touch controls to the MacBook Pro could boost productivity for users in certain scenarios, reflecting Apple's long-term observation of iPad user behavior. It remains to be seen if future touchscreen MacBook Pro models will also support Apple Pencil.
