Tablo DVR users just got a feature they’ve been waiting years for

Tablo, a popular over-the-air DVR manufacturer, has announced the rollout of a long-awaited offline mode for its fourth-generation DVRs. This feature allows users to access live TV via an antenna and stream previously recorded shows even when their internet is down or Tablo's servers are inaccessible. The new offline mode has some limitations, including the inability to activate it manually and the requirement for the home router to be powered on and working. Additionally, certain features like live streaming channels and scheduling new recordings will not be available in offline mode. The offline mode is currently available for Amazon Fire TV and Android TV versions of the Tablo app, with plans to release it for Apple TV, iOS, and Roku in the coming days, and for Samsung, LG, and Android versions in the coming months. This feature is expected to provide a much-needed solution for Tablo users who have experienced frequent service outages in the past, allowing them to continue enjoying their over-the-air TV content during internet disruptions.
