Keegan Bradley defends US Ryder Cup fans as just ‘passionate’ amid chaos

Keegan Bradley, the US Ryder Cup captain, defended American fans as "passionate" amid reports of chaos and unacceptable conduct during the second day of the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. Bradley rejected suggestions that his team had stoked up trouble, and even went so far as to claim that spectators had been "violent" during the Ryder Cup in Rome two years ago. In contrast, European captain Luke Donald believed that some in the galleries had engaged in unacceptable behavior, particularly towards Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, who completed a fourball victory with state troopers lining the holes. Despite the tensions, Europe lead their hosts 11½-4½ heading into the final day.
