‘He was in a lot of pain’: Pant’s foot injury leaves India sweating on scan results

Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper, suffered a foot injury during the fourth Test against England. Pant was batting on 37 when he attempted a reverse-sweep off a Chris Woakes delivery, which hit his right foot. Pant was forced to retire hurt and leave the field on a golf cart, as he was in considerable pain. India is now awaiting the results of Pant's scan to determine the extent of the injury. Liam Dawson, making a comeback to the Test side, finished with figures of one for 45 on the opening day.
