Borderlands 4, the upcoming installment in the popular looter-shooter franchise, is set to launch in just a few days. Developer Gearbox has released a new live-action trailer urging people to "quit" Earth and head to the planet Kairos, which is ruled by an all-powerful dictator. Despite the challenges, the trailer suggests that Kairos may be a more appealing option than the current state of affairs on Earth. The game was officially announced during the 2024 edition of Gamescom Opening Night Live, and the past few months have seen Gearbox reveal a substantial number of details about the game, including four new Vault Hunters that players can choose from. The studio has also spoken about the game's tone, aiming for a grounded sense of humor, with inspiration drawn from the Borderlands 3 expansions. Borderlands 4 is set to launch on September 12 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Switch 2 version arriving in October.
