HBO Max is hiking prices, just like its chief exec said it would

HBO Max is increasing the prices of its three subscription tiers, effective immediately for new subscribers. The Premium plan will now cost $22.99 per month ($229.99 annually), the Standard plan will be $18.49 per month ($184.99 annually), and the Basic with Ads plan will be $10.99 per month ($109.99 annually). Existing monthly subscribers will see the price hike on their next bill after November 20, 2025, while annual subscribers will keep the previous rates until their plan expires. The price increase comes just over a month after the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns HBO Max, stated that the service is "way underpriced." Additionally, HBO Max has made several changes in the past year, including reducing the offerings in its with-ads tier and reverting the service's name back to "HBO Max" after a brief "Max" rebranding.
