Rashid and Salt star as England thrash New Zealand in second men’s T20 – as it happened
England defeated New Zealand by 65 runs in the second men's T20 match played in Christchurch. Batting first, England posted a massive total of 236/4, with Phil Salt and Moeen Ali scoring impressive half-centuries. Salt was the standout performer, scoring 82 runs off just 41 balls, including 10 boundaries and 3 sixes. In response, New Zealand could only manage 171/7, despite a valiant effort from their batters. Adil Rashid and Sam Curran were the pick of the bowlers for England, taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively. The victory gives England a 1-0 lead in the series, with the third match scheduled to be played on Tuesday.
