Greer and Mackay elected as Scottish Greens co-leaders

The Scottish Green Party has elected Lorna Greer and Ross Mackay as its new co-leaders, replacing Patrick Harvie who had held the position for 17 years. The election was prompted by Harvie's decision to step down from the role. Greer and Mackay will now lead the party, with Greer becoming the first woman to hold the position of co-leader. The results of the election were announced at the party's annual conference in Glasgow. Greer and Mackay were chosen from a field of four candidates, with the other two being Gillian Mackay and Ariane Burgess. The new co-leaders have pledged to focus on addressing the cost-of-living crisis, tackling the climate emergency, and pushing for greater action on social justice and equality. They will also be responsible for leading the party's campaign for the next Scottish parliamentary elections.
