Disney's Mandalorian and Grogu trailer shows the fall of a lumbering giant

Disney has released a trailer for the upcoming film "The Mandalorian and Grogu," which is set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. The film follows the events of the Disney+ series "The Mandalorian" and the fall of the Empire in "Return of the Jedi." The 94-second trailer does not reveal much about the plot, but it shows Mando (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu battling against bots and beasts, with Grogu using the Force to try to steal a snack from a character played by Sigourney Weaver. The trailer suggests that the film will retain the adventurous spirit and humor of the TV series. "The Mandalorian and Grogu" will be the first Star Wars movie to hit theaters in over six years, with "Star Wars: Starfighter" slated to arrive a year later.
