Apple removed an app that archives videos of ICE arrests

Apple has removed the Eyes Up app, which collects and archives videos of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests, from the App Store. The app's main purpose was to serve as an archive, not a tool for eluding government agents. Unlike the previously removed ICEBlock app, Eyes Up did not provide real-time alerts of ICE activity. Apple cited its policy on "objectionable content" and received information from law enforcement that the app could be used to harm individual officers or law enforcement as a group. Google has also removed similar apps, such as Red Dot, which plotted the location of ICE activity, from the Play Store. This suggests that Apple and Google are taking a broader approach to banning apps that share the location of a "vulnerable group."
