Borderlands 4's Launch Trailer Includes Some Familiar Faces And All-New Vault Hunters

Borderlands 4, the latest installment in Gearbox's popular looter-shooter franchise, has released its cinematic launch trailer. The trailer showcases the game's new set of Vault Hunters – Vex, Rafa, Amon, and Harlowe – as they attempt to break free from the oppressive rule of the Timekeeper, the dictator of the dangerous planet of Kairos. The trailer also features familiar Borderlands characters, such as the iconic bartender Mad Moxxi and the annoying robot Claptrap. The gameplay trailer highlights new traversal mechanics, including double jumping, gliding, dodging, and fixed-point grappling, as well as a plethora of new guns to loot. Borderlands 4 is set to release on September 12 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version launching on October 3. The game has received a generally positive review, with the starting lineup of Vault Hunters being praised as the best yet, but the "repetitive" enemy designs and "dull" side quests being noted as weak points.
