Judy Robinson, a prominent figure in the voluntary sector, passed away suddenly at the age of 73 after a brain hemorrhage. She served as the general secretary of the Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation from 1991 to 2002 and then led Involve, the Yorkshire equivalent, until 2016. Robinson was a powerful advocate for the voluntary sector and its role in the welfare state. She also held the position of chair of Navca (the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action) from 2020 to 2023, supporting voluntary and community services.
