Tenants’ complaints about poor social housing in England jump 43% in a year
According to the report from the Housing Ombudsman Service in England, complaints from social housing tenants about poor living conditions have increased by more than 43% in the past year. The Ombudsman made 26,901 interventions to address these issues, including a case where a child's bedroom window was boarded up for four years. The report highlights the growing concerns of social housing tenants regarding the lack of repairs and other failings, such as antisocial behavior. The number of complaints has risen from 7,082 in the previous year to 9,181 in the year ending March 31, indicating a significant increase in the dissatisfaction of tenants with the management of their social housing properties.
