Marco Bezzecchi recovers from hitting seagull to win Australian MotoGP sprint race

Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi won the Australian MotoGP sprint race at Phillip Island, despite hitting a seagull at the start. Bezzecchi, starting from second position, had too much power in his Aprilia bike to overtake pole-sitter Fabio Quartararo of France. Despite the collision with the bird, which left feathers on his bike, Bezzecchi secured his third sprint win in the last four races. Australian rider Jack Miller qualified on the front row for the main race, while Alex Márquez's sixth-place finish inched him closer to securing second place in the world championship.
