Spotify just made this key Premium feature available to free users

Spotify has recently made significant changes to its free tier, expanding the features available to non-paying users. The key addition is the "Pick & Play" feature, which allows free users to directly play specific songs on demand, a capability previously reserved for Premium subscribers. Spotify is also introducing "Search & Play" and "Share & Play" features, which enable free users to find and instantly play songs, as well as share tracks with others who can then listen immediately. Additionally, free users can now create their own playlists and access Spotify's expert-curated playlists, including the personalized Discover Weekly playlist. While there may be some daily limits on the on-demand playback of specific songs, this represents a significant expansion of the free tier's capabilities. The move by Spotify appears to be an effort to make its free service more attractive and competitive, even as it has recently increased subscription prices and cracked down on account sharing among Premium users.
