Trump booed at Commanders NFL game before calling plays from Fox broadcast booth

President Donald Trump attended a Washington Commanders NFL game on Sunday, becoming the first sitting US president in nearly 50 years to attend a regular-season NFL game. However, he was greeted with boos and jeers from large sections of the crowd, with some also offering scattered cheers. Trump's appearance on the videoboard and his introduction at halftime were met with hostile reactions, likely due to the Democratic-leaning nature of the Washington DC area and the impact of his policies on nearby government workers. This was not the first time Trump had faced a hostile reception at a Washington sports event, as he was previously greeted with "lock him up" chants at a Washington Nationals game during the 2019 World Series.
