Bowser is leaving Nintendo of America

Doug Bowser, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America, is stepping down on December 31, 2025. His leadership responsibilities will be divided between two executives: Devon Pritchard, who will take over as President, and Satoru Shibata, who will act as the company's CEO. Bowser joined Nintendo in 2015 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and became the President in 2019. During his tenure, Nintendo opened a theme park, released a successful Hollywood movie, and launched the Switch 2 console. However, the company also faced controversies related to gender discrimination among its employees. Bowser has expressed pride in his leadership and the team's accomplishments, and he believes that Pritchard is an exceptional leader who will build on the company's growth. Pritchard plans to focus on connecting consumers with Nintendo's characters and worlds, while Shibata may become the public face the company has been missing.
