Facebook is adding job listings, again

Facebook, now a part of Meta, is reintroducing job listings on its platform. This feature was initially launched in 2017 but was later retired in 2023. The new job listings will be featured in the Marketplace section of Facebook and may also be shown in relevant groups. Businesses can post their own job listings, which must meet Facebook's guidelines, including exclusions for adult services, drugs, and in-person childcare. The job listings are aimed at local entry-level, service, and trade work, and are available only to users aged 18 and older. Scrolling through the listings in Seattle, the feature appears to be a digital version of a "Help Wanted" sign, taking advantage of the local connections that often happen through Facebook groups. The reintroduction of job listings on Facebook marks a return to a feature that the company had previously experimented with and then discontinued. The platform's discrimination policy will apply to the new job posting tool, ensuring that organizations cannot exclude groups based on gender or religious background when advertising jobs.
