Grammy-winning singer is in advanced talks to lead an adaptation of Sylvia Plathâs novel for Oscar-winning writer-director Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Billie Eilish is set to make her big screen acting debut in an adaptation of Sylvia Plathâs semi-autobiographical novel, The Bell Jar. According to Deadline, the 24-year-old will take on the lead role for Sarah Polley, the writer-director who previously won an Oscar for her Women Talking screenplay. Eilish is reportedly in advanced talks for the part. Eilish previously acted in 2023 TV series Swarm, co-created by Donald Glover. âI used to say that I hated acting,â Eilish said in her Saturday Night Live monologue. âBut the truth is, when I was little, I loved it! My mom and dad were both actors. So is my brother, Finneas. And it was my dream to be in a movie.â The film is set to be released by Focus Features in the US with other deals in the works. The Bell Jar was Plathâs sole novel, released the month before her suicide at the age of 30.
