They're the survivors of a major comics event... that hasn't happened yet Marvel Comics is preparing a major shake-up for its most formidable team. On Friday, it revealed its next Avengers lineup, including five heroes who will join forces in the wake of this summer's Avengers: Armageddon event. Captain Marvel, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Spider-Man (Peter Parker), and Wolverine (Logan) form the team in November's Avengers #1. The announcement hinted there are more characters still to come, but readers will have to wait to learn the full roster. The motto for the Avengers is usually "Earth's Mightiest Heroes," but this iteration is branded as "Earth's Mightiest Survivors," hinting that some familiar faces may not make it out of Avengers: Armageddon unscathed. That event series finds some of Marvel's iconic heroes banding together to face the Red Hulk (Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross), who has taken over Doctor Doom's country of Latveria. Armageddon is written by Chip Zdarsky, with art by Frank Alpizar and Delio Diaz. Zdarsky will also write the new Avengers ongoing, and he'll be reunited with artist Marco Checchetto on it. Together the pair produced one of the best modern-day Daredevil runs.
