The Fire's edge is coming in less than a month Red Hook Studios has announced new DLC for Darkest Dungeon, and not its 2023 sequel, Darkest Dungeon 2. The Fire's Edge will be the first major content update the horror roguelike has seen in six years. The DLC is set for release on Aug. 18, just over 10 years after Darkest Dungeon's initial launch. This adds to the growing list of games set to receive major expansions years after release, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The Fire's Edge will bring some of Darkest Dungeon 2 to its predecessor with The Duelist and The Runaway. Both characters debuted in the sequel and will add their unique abilities into Darkest Dungeon as part of the DLC. The Runaway will introduce the Burn mechanic, allowing players to set the dungeon ablaze during combat. The Fire's Edge will also introduce three new districts: the Academie Duello, Craftworks, and Archaeological Base Camp. Additionally, new trinkets will be added. Red Hook concludes its official press release for the DLC by saying that new writing, events, and more surprises are to come.
