Where to Go in Indonesia, Beyond Bali

For those who seek luxury at any price in a tropical paradise, Bali has become a destination second to none. Over six million international visitors come to the island for its charming and refined resorts and spas with deeply-relaxing wellness experiences, its beautiful palm-fringed beaches and lively surfing scene, its rich, ever-present arts and culture, as well as its vibrant local cafés, beach clubs, and bars. “The Island of the Gods” is certainly a destination that has earned all the hype that it gets, and then some. Still, due to Bali’s popularity, it’s become a challenge to avoid the droves crowding the roads and beach walks, especially during peak seasons. (Be sure to bone up on the best ways to behave while in Bali.) What more people need to realize is that there’s so much more of what the island offers on the other 17,000 plus islands of Indonesia.
