Woman, 88, dies crossing road after being hit by lorry

An 88-year-old woman has died after being hit by a lorry while crossing a road in Ayrshire. The pensioner was hit by the HGV being driven by a 51-year-old man on Main Street, Largs, at about 10:05 on Wednesday. Police Scotland said she was pronounced dead at the scene and inquiries into the incident were ongoing.
