Vicious circle of looming industry collapse fueling studio timidity. 3. Combination of factors meaning that while blockbusters endure, funding has collapsed for the kind of low-to-mid-budget adult dramas which were still around 25 years ago, and which dominated awards conversations for the half century prior to that.
