Spotify rolls out controls to keep kids music out of your algorithm

Spotify is expanding its shared account features to help parents better control what their children listen to. The new "Managed Accounts" feature, available for Premium Family subscribers, allows parents to filter out explicit content, block specific songs and artists, and hide music videos on the main Spotify app. This is distinct from the dedicated Spotify Kids app, as Managed Accounts enable parents to curate their children's listening experience within the main app. Children can still add songs to their favorites, create playlists, and receive personalized recommendations without affecting the main account holder's listening history or algorithm. Managed Accounts are exclusively available through Spotify's Premium Family plan, which costs $19.99 per month and includes six individual Premium accounts for members residing at the same address.
