Microsoft Teams will soon warn you of malicious links and files

Microsoft is enhancing protection against malicious content in Microsoft Teams to address the growing problem of malicious files and links. The new security feature will display warning banners on messages containing URLs flagged as spam, phishing, or malware, whether the message is internal or external. Additionally, messages containing EXE files will be blocked altogether, as they are a common vector for malware. The integration with Microsoft Defender will also disallow communication from blocked domains. This new feature is expected to roll out in a public preview in September and reach general availability by November, and will be available to Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (MDO) customers and Microsoft Teams enterprise customers.
