Meet Anamanaguchi, the band behind the last Scott Pilgrim video game’s soundtrack – and the next one

Anamanaguchi, a chiptune alt-rock band, is behind the soundtrack for the last Scott Pilgrim video game and the upcoming new Scott Pilgrim game. The Scott Pilgrim series, created by Canadian author and comic book artist Bryan Lee O'Malley, has become a popular and timeless story about teenage insecurity, love, and redemption. The series has been adapted into a movie, a Netflix anime series, and a 2010 video game, with Anamanaguchi providing the music for the last video game and the upcoming one. The band's lead songwriter, Peter Berkman, particularly enjoyed the "slice-of-life" moment in the Scott Pilgrim anime where the characters Knives and Kim were jamming together, which he felt captured the essence of why they love music. Anamanaguchi is excited to create the soundtrack they've always wanted to make for the new Scott Pilgrim game, continuing their collaboration with the beloved franchise.
