Borderlands 4 Finally Introduces Harlowe, The Team's Own Mad Scientist

Borderlands 4, the latest installment in the popular Borderlands series, introduces a new playable character named Harlowe. Harlowe is a combat scientist who previously worked for the weapons manufacturer Maliwan, and they possess a variety of high-tech abilities and gadgets to control and debuff enemies. Harlowe's primary ability is the Chroma Accelerator, which fires an unstable ball of energy that drifts through crowds, dealing cryo damage. This ability can be upgraded to have additional properties, such as bouncing between enemies and storing damage over time. Harlowe can also throw out a flux generator that creates a freezing energy field, entangling enemies and allowing for a chain effect of weapon and skill damage. The flashiest of Harlowe's abilities is the Zero-Point, which suspends enemies in mid-air in a colorful, high-tech bubble. Harlowe can then fire upon these trapped enemies or slam them in a desired direction, with further upgrades providing healing, ricocheting bullets, or a cryo explosion upon slamming an opponent. Borderlands 4 is set to release on September 12 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 port coming a month later on October 3.
