There wasn’t enough Copilot in Excel, so Microsoft added more

Microsoft has introduced a new Copilot function within Excel for Windows and Mac, allowing users to interact with the AI assistant directly within the spreadsheet software. The Copilot function enables users to specify a prompt and provide context, which the AI can then use to classify data, create multi-row, multi-column lists, and offer additional insights. However, the current implementation has some limitations, including the potential for accidentally omitting rows and a date-related bug. Microsoft encourages users to double-check their work and notes that the ability to add live data and pull from other business documents will be added in the future. The new Copilot function is currently available to users who are part of the Beta Channel, have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, and are running Windows 11 version 2509 or higher.
