Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses offer an AR display for $799
Meta has unveiled its first pair of augmented reality (AR) glasses, the Meta Ray-Ban Display, which will cost $799 and be available in the United States starting September 30. The glasses feature a translucent heads-up display that allows users to view and respond to text chats, AI prompts, directions, and video calls using gestures. The glasses come with a dedicated EMG wristband, the Meta Neural Band, which enables these interactions. The Ray-Ban Displays support various features, including real-time subtitles, turn-by-turn navigation, and music playback. The glasses' display is said to be "extremely high resolution" with 42 pixels per degree of the field of view, which is higher than the Meta Quest 3S. The glasses and wristband have a battery life of up to 6 hours and 18 hours, respectively. The Ray-Ban Displays are part of Meta's lineup of smart spectacles, which also includes the second generation of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses and the Oakley Meta Vanguard.
