NVIDIA starts selling its $3,999 DGX Spark AI developer PC
NVIDIA has started selling its DGX Spark AI developer PC for $3,999. The DGX Spark is a compact, high-performance AI computer designed for developers, researchers, and data scientists. Despite its small size (2.6 pounds), it packs impressive hardware, including NVIDIA's GB10 system-on-chip with a 20-core ARM CPU and a Blackwell GPU, 128GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and 4TB of NVMe storage. The DGX Spark runs NVIDIA's DGX OS, a custom version of Ubuntu Linux, which provides access to NVIDIA's AI models, libraries, and microservices. This allows developers to work on tasks such as refining image generation or creating AI chatbots. While the DGX Spark is not intended for gaming, it offers substantial computing power for AI development and research. Early recipients of the DGX Spark include companies like Anaconda, Google, Hugging Face, Meta, and Microsoft, as well as SpaceX, which received a unit delivered by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. The DGX Spark is part of NVIDIA's larger AI-focused product lineup, which includes the upcoming DGX Station featuring the more powerful GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip.
