One in four UK people fear a loved one drinks too much, survey finds

According to a survey of 2,000 adults in the UK, one in four people fear that a loved one, such as a partner, relative, or friend, drinks too much, while one in six are concerned that a loved one is taking too many drugs. The findings seem to corroborate experts' concerns about a growing "epidemic" of addiction to alcohol or drugs like cocaine and cannabis. Additionally, the survey revealed that 10% of respondents worry that they drink too much, and 5% are concerned about their own drug use. Interestingly, families with an annual income of more than £50,000 are three times more likely to have someone with an addiction problem.
