Ubiquiti’s new desktop NAS looks more like a wireless router

Ubiquiti, a company known for its networking products, has announced two new desktop network-attached storage (NAS) solutions, the UNAS 2 and UNAS 4. The UNAS 2, priced at $199, features a sleek design reminiscent of a wireless router and can accommodate two 3.5-inch hard drives in a RAID 1 configuration. It includes a 5 Gbps USB-C port for additional external storage and supports power over Ethernet (PoE) delivery. The larger UNAS 4, expected to cost $379, can hold up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard drives and a pair of M.2 NVMe SSD drives, though its RAID configuration options are still unknown. While Ubiquiti's rack-mounted NAS solutions offer more capacity and RAID options, the UNAS series aims to provide a minimalist desktop storage solution for users within the Ubiquiti ecosystem of networking devices.
