Tesla's most affordable Cybertruck gets scrapped after a whopping five months
Tesla has discontinued the rear-wheel drive (RWD) trim of its Cybertruck, which was the most affordable option, just five months after its launch. The Long Range model, priced at $69,990, had several features removed, including the power tonneau cover, adaptive suspension, and rear lightbar. Additionally, the RWD version had lower towing power and payload capacity compared to the all-wheel drive model, which now starts at $79,990. Tesla did not provide an official explanation for the removal of the Long Range option, but it could be attributed to low Cybertruck sales overall, which dropped by more than 50% in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year.
