A Connecticut man accused of murdering his girlfriend months after she was found dead at the bottom of a staircase had a separate pending domestic violence case in which another woman told police he strangled, threatened and assaulted her after meeting her on a dating app, court records show. Cole Theodore Werhan, 28, of Burlington, Connecticut, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder in connection with the death of 26-year-old Janina Brooke Murphy, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, according to Connecticut State Police.
