Sennheiser updates the Ambeo Max soundbar with lossless audio, customizable immersion and more

Sennheiser has announced a substantial update for its premium Ambeo Soundbar Max, a $2,000 high-end living room speaker. The update will include two new features: Customizable Immersion and Voice Enhancement Mode. Customizable Immersion allows users to adjust the volume levels of the side, top, and center channel virtualization, enabling them to tailor the immersive experience to their preferences. Voice Enhancement Mode boosts dialogue clarity, ensuring it remains clear even when surrounded by sound effects or music. Additionally, the update will add support for lossless audio, with the ability to play up to 24-bit/96kHz through Google Cast and up to 24-bit/192kHz from Tidal Connect. The Ambeo Soundbar Max already offered support for Dolby Atmos Music, and this update further enhances the audio quality. Originally launched in 2019 as the Ambeo Soundbar, the premium model has since been renamed the Ambeo Soundbar Max and is now priced at $2,000, down from its initial $3,000 price tag. Sennheiser claims that the Ambeo technology and bass performance of the soundbar eliminate the need for a separate subwoofer or rear satellite speakers.
