Google is bringing image and PDF uploads to AI Mode

Google is updating its AI Mode on desktop with several new features. The company is adding the ability to process images, allowing users to ask detailed questions about the pictures. In the coming weeks, Google will also introduce support for PDF uploads on desktop, enabling users to summarize documents and ask follow-up questions. Additionally, Google will be expanding AI Mode's file support to include Google Drive files in the coming months. The update also includes a new Canvas feature, which allows users to consolidate relevant information about a specific topic or purpose in a side panel that updates as they ask more questions. Furthermore, Google is rolling out video input support for AI Mode's Search Live feature on mobile, enabling users to point the camera at a problem and ask for assistance. Lastly, with Lens in Chrome, users will be able to ask AI Mode about the content on their desktop screen, and the AI will provide an overview with key information.
