Spotify now directly integrates with DJ software
Spotify has announced the integration of its platform with popular DJ software like rekordbox, Serato, and djay. This integration will allow Spotify Premium subscribers to access their entire library and playlists directly within the desktop DJ software, making it easier to build out sets from playlists and blend tracks. The integration is available in 51 global markets, and users can simply log into their Premium accounts within the preferred DJ software to get started. This is not a brand-new idea, as Spotify had offered a similar integration in the past, but had stopped supporting third-party DJ platforms in 2020 due to business decisions and rights constraints. Spotify has been making other updates to its platform, including the introduction of lossless streaming and an in-app messaging feature. However, the company continues to face criticism for its low payouts to artists, while generating nearly $17 billion in revenue each year. Additionally, it's worth noting that Spotify's CEO, Daniel Ek, is heavily invested in a military AI company called Helsing.
