Why IPVanish is going RAM-only - and what it means for your privacy and data

IPVanish, a popular virtual private network (VPN) provider, has announced that it is transitioning to a RAM-only server infrastructure. This means that all user data stored on their servers will be wiped when the servers are powered off or restarted, ensuring that no logs or user information are retained. The RAM-only approach is a significant shift in the VPN industry, as it provides enhanced privacy and security for users. With traditional server setups, user data could potentially be accessed or seized by authorities. IPVanish's new infrastructure ensures that even if a server is seized, there will be no user data to recover. The RAM-only servers are now available in 19 countries, including 10 US states, providing users with a wider range of server locations. This move by IPVanish aligns with the growing demand for increased privacy and data protection in the digital age.
