Game Accused Of Copying Horizon Gets Radically Updated Steam Page

Tencent's upcoming game, Light of Motiram, has been accused of copying Sony's Horizon franchise. In response, Tencent has made significant changes to the game's Steam page, including removing references to mechanimals that were similar to those in Horizon and replacing the screenshots with new ones that are less reminiscent of Sony's game. The changes come after Sony filed a lawsuit against Tencent, alleging that Light of Motiram infringes on the Horizon franchise. According to the lawsuit, Tencent had pitched a Horizon spin-off featuring the game's protagonist, Aloy, traveling to Asia and encountering new mechanimals inspired by Eastern mythology. However, Sony rejected the pitch, and the company claims that Tencent and developer Polaris Quest went ahead with the game regardless. The lawsuit could potentially impact the release of Light of Motiram, which is currently scheduled for Q4 2027. The game's Steam page has been significantly updated, with a more generic description and new screenshots that are less similar to Horizon.
