PayPal introduces easy ‘pay by link’ feature for requesting payments

PayPal is introducing a new "pay by link" feature called PayPal Links, which allows users to send and request money through personalized, one-time links. The links can be customized and remain valid for 10 days. The feature is based on PayPal's existing PayPal.Me system but adds the ability to initiate specific payment requests. PayPal Links will support payments made using cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and PayPal USD (PYUSD) in the US. To create a link, users can open the PayPal app, search for the recipient, enter the payment details, and generate a shareable link. The new feature will initially be available only to US users but will be rolled out to other countries, including Europe, over the course of the month. While the links can be practical, users should be cautious and ensure that any received links come from trusted sources expecting payment requests.
