The Google Home Speaker is getting a Gemini-driven refresh
Google has announced a refresh of its Google Home Speaker, which will feature the Gemini AI assistant as the central component. The new speaker will have a light ring that flashes different colors to indicate when the AI is listening, processing, or responding. Users with a Google Home Premium subscription will also be able to access Gemini Live. The speaker will offer 360-degree audio and the ability to connect a pair of Home Speakers to a Google TV Streamer for a surround-sound home theater setup. Additionally, the speaker will have a physical button to toggle the microphone off for privacy. The new Google Home Speaker will be available in spring 2026 for $99 and will be sold in various countries.
