Intel resurrects ancient 10th-gen processor for ‘new’ Core i5

Intel has announced the release of a new processor, the Core i5-110, which appears to be a rebranded version of the Core i5-10400 that was released in 2020. The new processor has the same specifications as the previous model, including a 6-core, 12-thread design, 14-nanometer architecture, and a 65-watt power draw. The move to rerelease the older processor is known as a "rebadge," which is a common practice in the tech industry. However, given the rapid pace of CPU technology and the challenges Intel is currently facing, this particular rebranding may not be well-received by consumers. The Core i5-110 will be priced at $200 USD, the same as the original Core i5-10400. While this may seem like a good deal, the older technology and the potential difficulty in finding compatible DDR4 RAM in the future could offset any perceived budget advantages.
