Microsoft’s Copilot AI text-to-speech gets new, cleaner ‘scripted mode’
Microsoft has unveiled a new "Scripted Mode" feature in its Copilot Labs AI platform, which allows users to turn written scripts into text-to-speech audio. This feature is part of Copilot Audio Expressions, which previously only had "Story Mode" (for storytelling with multiple voices) and "Emotive Mode" (for a single, expressive voice). The Scripted Mode reads the input text verbatim, without any improvisation or creative changes, providing a fast and direct reading. Users can still choose the voice and style they prefer for the reading. Currently, Copilot Audio Expressions is only available in English, but Microsoft is exploring ways to support more languages in the future. The new Scripted Mode is an addition to the existing text-to-speech capabilities of Copilot Labs, giving users more flexibility in how they can generate audio from written content.
