Battlefield 6 Bot XP Farms Are No More

Battlefield Studios has patched out the bot-enabled XP farms in Battlefield 6's Portal mode. This means players can no longer earn Mastery XP or complete challenges by playing against bots. However, they can still earn career XP and receive a 150% XP match completion bonus in bot lobbies. The developers stated that their internal data showed a large number of these bot-enabled servers were created primarily to earn XP and inflate player stats. While they understand the players' motivations, the bot farms were making it harder for players to find non-XP-farming experiences in Battlefield Portal. To address the underlying progression frustrations, Battlefield Studios has increased the amount of XP earned from match completion and daily challenges, and reduced the Mastery XP needed to unlock the first 20 ranks of a weapon. They are also adjusting some of the career rank-based unlock requirements. Despite the bot farm fix, Battlefield 6 has had a successful launch, selling over 7 million copies in its first week and peaking at 747,000 concurrent players on Steam. Battlefield 6 Season 1 is set to launch on October 28, bringing new maps, weapons, and more.
