Nintendo has announced that the prices of the original Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED, as well as select accessories, will increase in the United States starting August 3. The company cites "market conditions" as the reason for the price changes. The new pricing has not been officially announced, but some reports suggest the Switch could cost $340, the Switch Lite $230, and the Switch OLED $400, representing significant increases from the current prices of $300, $200, and $350, respectively. The price of Nintendo Switch Online memberships and games will not be affected. The price increases follow similar adjustments in Canada, where the Switch now costs $20 CAD more. This comes amid a broader trend of price hikes for gaming hardware, with Microsoft recently announcing increases for the Xbox Series S and Series X consoles.
