The Sims Mobile Is Shutting Down For Good, With No Refunds Available

Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that The Sims Mobile, a mobile game in the popular Sims franchise, will be shutting down on January 20, 2026. The game has been running for seven years and received over 50 updates. Players will no longer be able to play the game after the shutdown, as there is no offline mode. EA will be hosting various events leading up to the shutdown, and on January 6, 2026, all Build Mode and Create A Sim items will be unlocked for everyone. Unspent currency, such as SimCash, Simoleons, and Tickets, will not be eligible for refunds after the shutdown. The game will be delisted from mobile app stores on October 21, 2022, but players who have the game installed can continue playing until the servers close in January 2026. EA did not provide specific reasons for the shutdown, but the announcement came shortly after the company announced its sale to an investor consortium for $55 billion. While The Sims Mobile is coming to an end, EA continues to support The Sims 4 with new content, although they do not plan to make The Sims 5.
