F2P Shooter Rules Of Engagement: The Grey State Takes Players Into The Horrorverse

Tencent Games and Grey State Studio are developing a free-to-play tactical-horror action-RPG shooter called "Rules of Engagement: The Grey State." The game is set in a nightmarish realm called the "Grey State," which is filled with Lovecraftian creatures and other monstrous entities. Players assume the role of Striders, who remotely pilot their bio-engineered shells to scavenge for gear and secure alien artifacts in the "Horrorverse." The gameplay features a PvEvP loop, where players must choose between early extraction or risking it all for bigger rewards. The game will offer four playable classes, with the fourth class currently hidden. Grey State Studios emphasizes that the game is designed for the future, with planned content updates, meta shakeups, and a cosmetics-only in-game shop. "Rules of Engagement: The Grey State" is scheduled to launch on PC in 2026 and can be played solo or with up to three other players.
